How-to: DIY Cakestand

Cake1JD_250

We decided it was time to dress up dessert! We promise, this sweet idea is so easy.

Materials
House letter (Home Depot)
12"x12" piece of glass (Lowes.com)
Glass vase (hopefully you have a spare!)
Bunch of flowers (we went with hydrangea)

>How-to
Step 1 Apply the letter to the second tier of the cake. (A fun DIY spin to the traditional monogram!)
Step 2 Fill the vase with blooms.
Step 3 Place the cake on the glass square on top of the vase

Cool idea but you have the same kind of flowers that you have in the vase also as a cake topper? Wouldn't it be better if you kept a traditional wedding cake topper or even if you used a funny one instead?

I love this idea and will be using it for my October 29th wedding. I'm thinking that I want to use a square vase instead.

I luv this idea for my own weddings plans. Great idea. I will need 18x18 glass though and may use more than on glass vase base for security.
