Real Wedding Inspiration: Wildflower Centerpieces

WildflowercenterpiecesDid you know that if you have a green thumb, you can look to your garden and your garage for an easy DIY centerpiece idea? Go the homegrown route: Pluck a few of your favorite blooms (or buy them from the local flower market if you'd prefer to leave your garden in tact.) Next find a variety of old jars in your garage or attic, or at your local flea market. Clean them out, fill them with water, and use them to display your flowers on your wedding day. The centerpiece will look organic and airy, and will be perfect for an outdoor or garden ceremony. A tip: Don't cut or buy flowers any sooner than the morning of the wedding if you can. You'll want them to stay alive as long as possible for a fresh look and feel.

Great tips - these flowers look as professional as any I've seen and would make a great centerpiece at any wedding. Being able to say the flowers came from a personal garden would be an extra bonus on-top of the savings.

Great idea but, fresh from local grower don't need to be purchased the day of the wedding. Thursday or Friday always works fine. Order ahead with a local specialty cut flower grower. Waiting until the day of is not a good idea. We sell by the bucket or the bunch. Other growers will too. Check with the Assoc. of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.
