If your ceremony and reception are in two different locations, or your wedding venue is fairly large, you may be planning to post signs to direct your guests on where to go. (Or you could just be doing it for an added décor treat too – we get it.) Either way, it’s a chance to work in a little DIY fun. Here's how: Buy or cut a piece of wood in the size and shape you desire. Pick up paint in your wedding colors and smaller brushes to apply it. No need to worry about primer or any of the other usual pre-painting procedures here. Just grab a brush and start painting whatever you’d like, however you’d like -- your names, your wedding date, or even something useful like “Wedding This Way”. Anything goes. It’s another way to get personal with your guests and you can try out fun techniques like stenciling or using spray paint. (Plus, it’s a fun project to get your groom in on too.) When your signs are complete, use nails to hang them from nearby trees or post them in the soil near the entrance or passageways your guests will travel. And, be sure to tell your photographers you’ll want pictures with them too. They’ll make quite the keepsake.
