How-To: Invitation Mailer Tubes

Mailingtubes_aHere's a great DIY alternative to envelopes when mailing out your save-the-dates or invitations. This fun idea comes from our newest guest blogger, Shana Faust! Here are the steps:

Materials
Scrapbooking or wrapping paper (in solid colors or patterns to match your wedding invitations)
Scissors
Liquid adhesive
Mailing tubes (these are from the container store, but they're available at the post office and online too)
Sticky labels

Step 1: Use a scrap piece of paper to measure the size of the piece needed to completely cover the tube.

Step 2: Neatly trim paper to size of mailer based on that piece.

Step 3: Cover the back of the paper with adhesive, applying it strips for consistency.

Step 4: Gently roll the paper around the tube, making sure to place it evenly with all edges, lining up the edges so that the tube itself is not showing.

Step 5:Let it dry. (Shouldn't take long at all.)

Step 6: Decide where you'd like the label to placed then stick it on, and you're done!

(Note: In order to make it work without damaging the stationery, you'll want to pick a low-weight paper.)

I love this idea. My husband and I are planning our 10 year renewal ceremony and I may just have to use this idea. We want the ceremony and reception to be a GRAND CELEBRATION and this would just add to the fun. :)

I love this idea! Brilliant! I am already married but would consider using this idea for other creative invitations. Thanks!
