Real Wedding Inspiration: Instant Centerpiece

Canistercenterpiece

We post lots of projects that are "quick" and "easy," but this one beats them all. Reader Andrea sent in this sweet and simple centerpiece from her own wedding reception, put together by her mother. With the silver canisters costing only 89 cents each (look for them at a local craft store), the entire project totaled less than 7$ per centerpiece. (The only other expenses were the ribbons and the flowers.) And, according to Andrea, they received rave reviews from guests!

Thanks so much for sending in this idea, Andrea. If you'd like to see a project from your own wedding here, send photos and a description to editors@mydiyweddingday.com.

It is amazing what a well placed ribbon can do. I think the brides mother has a good eye for color and that made her design work. Thanks

The bride's mother also has a good eye for bargains -- if I'm not mistaken, those "silver canisters" are paint cans -- brilliant!

They are indeed paint cans, purchased at a hardware store, not a craft store.

And the total cost was under $7, including the ribbons and flowers.

It had to be less than $7 -- unless they filled the cans with Fiji water! ;-)

Actually, to make the flowers last longer, urine makes the best solution.
